• The MISD Board of Trustees unanimously passed an Order calling for a bond election on May 9, 2015

     
    The Miles Board calls for $7,000,000 school bond election. With the bond a new Elementary campus will be constructed, which include upgrades to furnishings, safety and technology. The following is the cost breakdowns:

        Design Fees $400,000
        Technology Expenses $200,000
        Furnishings  $175,000
        Construction Contingency Fund  $75,000
        Bond Issue Expense $50,000
        Utility Expense $35,000
        Geotechnical Report $25,000

        Third Party Plan Review $10,000
     
    Tax Impact
    Assumes up to a $0.309 cent increase in debt service tax rate. On a $69,000 home (e.g. approximate, average home value in Miles) the estimated annual increase in taxes would be $213.21 or $17.77 per month. Homeowners who hold a "65 and over exemption" would see no tax increase as their taxes are frozen. (See chart below)
