Clint Askins
Tuesday, March 09, 2021

March 9, 2021

Dear Staff and Parent’s,

Beginning on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, Miles ISD will follow the Governors Executive Order, which releases teachers and students from the state mandate requiring the wearing of mask at school, subject to the following restrictions:

* Social distancing will remain in place where feasible in the school setting.

* Mask wearing is encouraged at school events where large numbers of community                               members gather together.

* Mask wearing will remain a personal choice and will be permitted at school.

* Miles ISD reserves the ability to reinstate the mask mandate for students and staff in the event of changed condition and an increase in COVID-19 cases in the school population.

It is imperative that families remain vigilant in monitoring symptoms related to COVID-19 and self-quarantine if symptoms appear. Miles ISD will continue to monitor cases in Runnels County and among our staff and students.

Best Regards,

Clint Askins

Miles ISD
