Parents, in an attempt to prevent any grade level from being quarantined if we were to have a case of COVID, we ask that you would send your children who are in PreK-4th grade with a mask. 5th grade through 6th grade have been doing a great job wearing their masks! If you are uncomfortable sending your children who are PreK-4th grade with a mask we understand, but if there is a positive case of COVID-19 in that grade your child will be quarantined for 10 days if they are not wearing a mask. We appreciate ALL that you are doing to support your children and the rest of Miles Elementary family. If questions please contact the Elementary Principal, Curt McKneely. Thank you.
I am regretfully informing you that a Miles ISD teacher or student has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to confidentiality, we are unable to share the teachers or students name and we appreciate your understanding in this highly sensitive matter. All facilities have been sanitized and cleaned. Unfortunately, the teacher or student did not wear a mask while participating in an athletic event, therefore triggering a mandatory quarantine for all JV and Varsity Volleyball players. Our local health authority in Ballinger has mandated this quarantine. Varsity and JV Volleyball participants will be able to return to school September 8th, 2020. At this time all athletes will be required to wear a mask while participating in athletic events. In doing so, should we have another positive COVID-19 case, only the infected person will have to quarantine not the whole team. Staff and students will continue to be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 and safety protocols will continue to be followed. The health of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Dear Athletes and Parents, Due to the recent spike in COViD-19 cases around the state, Miles ISD will temporarily suspend the summer strength and conditioning program. We are taking this action to be proactive in doing our part to protect the safety and wellbeing of our athletes and coaches. Attendance and effort through the past three weeks has been great! We will not have workouts the week of June 29th – July 3rd. This will precede the planned closed week of July 6th – July 10th. Our plan is resume S & C on July 13th. Please stay safe and take care of your families. Coach Wilhelm Miles ISD, Athletic Director
MILES VOLLEYBALL CAMP NEWS from Coach Lange: The Connie Bozarth volleyball camp has been canceled due to restrictions and the spike in Covid-19. She will send money back to those who have paid. Sorry, we were so excited for this camp!
Announcement from Coach Eubank for the Lady Dogs regarding summer workouts: Because of the great response, our facilities particularly the weight room is very crowded that makes it difficult for the girls and the coaches to get the best out of our time. As a result, we are, beginning Monday, going to split the HS and JH into 2 groups. HS girls will be working from 7:30 to 9:30 and JH girls will be working from 9:30 to 11:30. If it is a problem for families that have Lady Bulldogs in both HS and JH groups, you may bring both or all of your children to the time that works best for your family. We would like for the HS girls to come in early if possible, so your JH daughter could come in then as well. If however that is not the best, then bring them to the second session. Thanks for your understanding and your support. Thank you for allowing your special young ladies to be a part of our Lady Bulldog programs. #keepupthegoodwork, #goladybulldogs
Its a great day to be a Bulldog!!
Miles ISD meal pickup will be Mondays and Wednesdays 8:00-9:00 a.m. Students will receive 2 days of breakfast/lunch on Monday and 3 days of breakfast/lunch on Wednesday.
Given the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19 and the recent governor's executive order extension, Miles ISD will extend the suspension of of normal district operations through May 4th. We will continue to send out information to parents and students regarding our educational efforts through online and packet instruction.
The Miles ISD community must work together to fight COVID-19. Head to http://tea.texas.gov/staywell for vitally important public health guidance to stop the spread. If we stand apart as a community now, we will be together again soon.
