We had a good first week back. Thanks to the staff and the students for hitting the ground running. Remember that Monday is a student and staff holiday.
Report cards were issued on Wednesday. Please make sure your child returns their report card on Tuesday if they have not done so already.
Finally-January is School Board appreciation month. If you know a school board member, please tell them thanks for their selfless service to the school.

School will begin on January 9th! We have missed you, and we are ready for the new semester!
January 8th is a Teacher workday. If you have moved into or out of the District, January 8th is a great day to enroll or withdraw your child. Attached is the Elementary Newsletter. We have a lot of important dates coming up. So make sure you write those down. Our Awards Presentation for the 1st semester is January 11th at 1:30pm in the Auditorium for 1st-6th Grade.

One more week to go, but it is a BIG week! We will review for finals on Monday and Tuesday. We will take Finals Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Friday is early release.
Once we get past this week, we hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and gets some much needed rest.

We are getting very close to the end. This would be a great weekend to check the student portal and make sure your assignments are up to date. The final exam schedule is attached again, just to be safe. After this week we will have two days of review and three days of testing. After the early release on the 22nd hopefully everyone will get a well deserved rest. Congratulations to our Junior High UIL team and sponsors. We had a very impressive showing.

Sunday would be a wonderful day to visit the park, especially at 3 p.m. when our Bulldog Band is putting on it Christmas Concert. After the concert, make sure to stay for the Jingle Bell Run.

We hope everyone has had a restful Thanksgiving. As always there are lots of happenings going on. Junior High Basketball plays on Monday, and JV/Varsity Basketball plays on Tuesday. Junior High OAP will be competing on Wednesday in Bangs. We will be hosting the annual Ribs Tournament Thursday-Saturday, so good luck to all of our students in their many and various competitions. This Friday will be a Student Holiday.

Miles ISD recently had an uncontested election for school board. We would like to thank Carol Granzin, Bill Book, and Misti Dunlap for serving for the next three years.
