Dear Miles ISD Community,
The Miles ISD Leadership Team has made the determination that we will close our elementary campus for the next five days. This decision was made to ensure the safety of our students and staff members as we currently have reports of positive cases at the elementary campus. We will not have virtual or remote learning during this time.
Currently, we will close only the elementary school from Monday, August 23 and reopen Monday August 30.
Miles ISD is committed to ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and community. By working together, we will be able to ensure the safety of all stakeholders and continue to focus on delivering a quality educational experience.
Likewise, we encourage all members of the community to monitor your health, and follow the CDC guidelines for prevention found at https://cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/how-covid-spreads.html. It is only with your help in containing the spread of COVID-19 the we will be able to return to a version of normal operations for the 2021-22 school year.
We know that this is difficult for everyone and we thank you for your support and patience during this time.
Sincerely,
Clint Askins
Miles ISD
Superintendent
