Dear Parents and Guardians:
A Miles ISD teacher or student has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to confidentiality, we are unable to share the teachers or students name and we appreciate your understanding in this highly sensitive matter. Facilities have been sanitized and cleaned. The local health authority has investigated the case and has decided that a grade level, campus, or district shutdown is not required at this time. The teacher or student will not return until all of the following criteria are met: 1) at least one day (24 hours) have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever reducing medications); 2) the individual has improvement in symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); 3) at least ten days have passed since the symptoms first appeared.
All staff and students will continue to be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 and safety protocols will continue to be followed. The health of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
