We hope everyone enjoys their three day weekend. Junior High Volleyball will have a game on Monday even though the students are not in school. This Wednesday we will have an assembly to discuss the lockdown drill that we will have on Thursday. We have also included a flyer outlining Halloween. Students will be allowed to dress up, within the guidelines. Some face paint is acceptable so long as the students are still recognizable. Costumes must be family friendly, and of course dress code still applies. Mask, weapons and blow-up costumes are not acceptable.

This will be the 3rd week of the Second Six-Weeks. The grades that are in the gradebook Friday afternoon will be the grades that go on the next Progress Report. These are also the grades that will determine eligibility for students that lost eligibility at the end of the First Six-Weeks. This weekend will be a good time to take a look at parent portal.

Students will take Fall pictures on Thursday.

Thursday is FAFSA night for Seniors. There will be people on hand to help families submit their FAFSA application.

The Band will participate in the Concho Classic Marching Festival Saturday 10/11 at 1:45 p.m. They have been working hard to perfect their performance.

Congratulations to our Runnel County Register Student of the Week: Lala Stokes.

Report Cards were issued on Wednesday. Any student that has not returned a signed report card will have lunch detention on Monday. Please check with your child, and possibly make sure that it is not still in their backpack.

If your student is taking the ACT, don't forget Mrs. K's ACT workshop on Thursday. There is not a football game this week so there will not be a pep rally.

Home Coming has been a lot of fun. Thanks to the kids and staff that participated.

The students have a long weekend this weekend, since it is the end of the 1st Six Weeks. Report cards will go home on Wednesday. All students are required to return them signed by Monday 9/29 or serve lunch detention.

If your student has not returned the packet of permission slips yet, please make sure that those are returned also. Please see the other attached photos . They have important information about the 4-H Kick-off and ACT registration.

Enjoy the weekend.

We hope you have a great weekend.

We want to remind you that all students attending school sporting events must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For safety reasons, students are not allowed to play within the fenced areas of the stadium, at the ends of the field near the scoreboard, or around the restrooms and concession stand.

Please ensure that your child is supervised at all times during games and activities. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!

BIG...big...BIG Week at Miles High this week. First off it is Homecoming with all that entails. We want to have fun with all the Spirit Days, but please remember that dress code still applies. Nothing should cover the students face or hinder the learning process. No inflatables.

We also have the Miles Cross-Country Meet here on Wednesday. Students will be allowed to go watch and support the team, but if they owe work they will be required to stay in the library. This would be a GREAT time to check the student portal.

Speaking of checking the portal, this is the last week of the Six-Weeks. Teachers will be cutting off grades very soon, which is all the more reason to check the portal.

Finally, congratulations to our Runnels County Register Academic Student of the Week: McKenzie McFarland. McKenzie was chosen by staff members because she exemplifies the character trait of Fairness.

Parents and Guardians,

This afternoon, the school’s panic button was accidentally activated by a substitute teacher. This triggered a false alarm. We want to assure you that there was no danger to our students or staff.

We are very sorry for any concern this may have caused. As we continue to train and refine our safety procedures, we are working through these kinds of situations so that our systems are strong and effective if they are ever truly needed.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we prioritize the safety and security of our school.
